1. What is Mission Accomplished?
"I'm set up to handle anyone's 'to do' list - anything they can't or won't do or don't have the time or ability to do. I've been open for four years. I have clients who hire me to pet sit while they go out to dinner. I have clients in their 90s who don't want to go into a care facility, but need help with their shopping or to walk their dog."

2. What makes your business unique?
"I don't think there are a lot of companies in the area doing this. There are one or two others that have started within the last three months. There's such a need for this in this area. I have clients in their 90s and young couples with babies who are just way too busy. I recently had a client who was willing to pay me a lot of money to sit in line to get the PS3 system, but I got there too late."

3. What do you like best about your business?
"Pet sitting - It's nice to pet and play with other animals and then go home without them. I've taken care of dogs, cats, fish and even an iguana."

4. What advice do you offer to anyone looking for a service like yours?
"Make sure they are licensed and insured and have a good reputation. Check their references."

5. What do you do in your spare time?
"I spend time with my family, my horse and animals (a dog and two cats). I like to go snow skiing in the winter and boating in the summer. I am also a volunteer for Noah's Wish, an organization dedicated to rescuing and sheltering animals during disasters and The Grace Foundation of Northern CA, a horse rescue and rehabilitation center in El Dorado Hills."

Background info:
Lorie Howard, 42
A resident of El Dorado Hills for nine years, Lorie Howard was working in technical support for a data center when it closed down. Before jumping into another fast-track job, Howard decided to look for a new career opportunity. An animal lover, Howard began hiring out as a pet sitter. Later she started grocery shopping for seniors and even arranged to put up their Christmas lights. It wasn't long before she had found her new career Mission Accomplished.
